Old news – East Wichel shop plans
This is old news, but I have had several enquiries about plans for the shops in East Wichel, particularly now that the land for them has been cleared. A planning application for the shops — facing East Wichel Way where the Stoweaway now stands — was submitted by Taylor Wimpey in February and approved in May. The plans include a space for one 380 m² convenience store, plus almost twice that space that could either be used as shops, food outlets, offices or community facilities, depending on demand. The 2009 building schedule expected the shops to have been built before 225 houses had been occupied in East Wichel.
