Swindon Borough and Police Commissioner elections 2016

Elections to Swindon Borough Council are on Thursday 5 May. Candidates for Old Town Ward, which includes East Wichel, are:

• Terry Davis (UKIP);
• Bill Hughes (Green Party);
• Brian Mattock (Conservative);
• Jane Milner-Barry (Labour);
• Garry Porter (Liberal Democrat).

So far only the Conservatives and Labour seem to have made any attempt at canvassing in East Wichel for this election.

The polling station for East Wichel is the StoweAway Community Centre. The polls will be open from 7 am to 10 pm on Thursday 5 May. Your ballot paper must be in the ballot box by 10 pm in order for your vote to count. You don’t need to take your polling card to vote.

Elections are also taking place for police and crime commissioners on the same day. The candidates for Wiltshire Police and Crime Commissioner are:

• Angus MacPherson (Conservative);
• Brian Mathew (Liberal Democrat);
• John Short (UKIP);
• Kevin Small (Labour).

Polling is at the same times and in the same polling station as for the Borough Council election.
