Christmas and New Year services

Wroughton Silver Band playing carol music at Canalside in early December
The following services will be available in East Wichel over the Christmas and New Year period.

The Stowe Church Carols by Candlelight
Christmas Eve, Tuesday 24th December, 4.30pm to 5.30pm at The StoweAway. A traditional and peaceful start to Christmas.
Waste and recycling collections
Monday 23rd December and Christmas Eve, Tuesday 24th December
The waste and recycling collections will happen as usual. The collections may happen later or earlier in the day than usual, as the council squeezes in waste and recycling collections for other areas into the same day.
Excess cardboard and other recycling
Until the end of January, excess paper, cardboard and other items that would normally go in an orange or black recycling box can be put out providing it is sorted into suitable, sturdy containers. Large amounts of cardboard (neatly folded and bundled) can be placed next to your boxes for collection. This may be collected by a second vehicle at a different time to the recycling box.
Christmas trees
Real trees — with all decorations and lighting removed — should be placed at the front of your property, clearly visible from the road, between Monday 6th January 2020 and Saturday 1st February 2020 and left out until collected. Large trees should be cut into pieces that can be safely lifted by two people. The borough council’s garden waste recycling team will collect trees as they operate in the area, which may be a different day to the usual waste collections. The expected dates in East Wichel are Monday 6th and Monday 20th January, but may be later owing to the extra trees to be collected.
